Demo and live accounts: what simulation cannot prove

A demo tests a process, not withdrawals or live execution. Identify the missing evidence before considering a live account.

Learn the interface

Demonstration lets you read order tickets, find settings and understand statements without committing live-account capital. It is useful for procedures: opening, modifying, stopping and recording. Clearly identifying screenshots as demo avoids implying an experience they do not represent.

Document possible differences

Simulation may not reproduce live prices, liquidity, costs, restrictions or personal reactions. Record simulator assumptions and what has not been observed. Completing an exercise successfully cannot establish that a method will work under different conditions.

Avoid turning an exercise into an obligation

Finishing exercises does not require opening a live account. Demo can remain an educational tool. COF evidence distinguishes source and context; check that distinction when reading history. Past or simulated performance guarantees no future result.

Give simulation a clear scope

A demo can test some interface and process steps. Its file should identify the data source, execution assumptions and events not reproduced. It cannot present a simulated operation as a live account receipt.

Comparing the test journal with the intended product's documents exposes differences still unobserved: actual applied costs, order behaviour, account checks and withdrawals. These are questions to document, not a list of events assumed identical between demo and live.

Name a test result accurately

Name the result according to its tested scope: the simulated process, data used and observed limitations. The useful output is a file of remaining checks. This test cannot establish a live financial outcome.

Your verification grid

ItemDocument or check to request
EnvironmentLabel every statement and screenshot as demo or live.
DataName provider, period and any delayed-data status.
ExecutionRecord price, liquidity and order-handling assumptions.
CostsSeparate simulated fees, ignored parameters and documented pricing.
Outside simulationName what the test does not observe: identity, deposits, withdrawals or recourse.

Practical questions

Does a successful demo process require switching to live?

No. A demo can remain a learning tool. The file describes tested steps and unknown differences. It is neither a deposit recommendation nor evidence of profitability under live conditions.

Can a demo statement be public evidence?

Yes, for an exercise whose simulated context is explicit. It must not be renamed a live statement or used to claim withdrawal experience. Remove personal information before sharing.
