Identify what you are buying
Funded can describe different arrangements. Read whether the offer sells an evaluation, simulated environment or another service. FTMO describes its accounts as simulated; this cannot be generalised to every provider’s agreement. Record the company, product and terms of the precise offer.
Read constraints before the price
Find loss, duration, instrument and permitted-behaviour rules. Ask how they are measured and when they can change. An advertised account amount is not necessarily money made available to you. Retain the terms at purchase and any refund conditions.
Assess complaint routes
Identify support and how to contest a decision. An example reward does not establish payout frequency or future service availability. COF is not selling a challenge in this guide; it provides a reading framework. Declining an evaluation with ambiguous clauses is a valid decision.
Locate the stages in the agreement
A commercial process may distinguish evaluation, an account described as funded and payment conditions. Read the contractual definition of each stage rather than assuming that a new label turns simulation into a live account. The cited FTMO site describes its own model; it cannot establish how every prop firm operates.
A file can record fees, failure conditions, conduct rules and the dispute process. Paying for an evaluation does not establish that a later stage will be reached. A certificate screenshot does not describe the subsequent rights and obligations.
If marketing and the agreement differ
Ask which version applies and keep a written response with the relevant documents. This page explains a reading method; it does not recommend an evaluation or provider to a particular person.

Practical questions
Does a funded account necessarily contain real funds?
No. Read the agreement for the provider concerned. FTMO states that its accounts are demo accounts with fictitious funds and simulated trading. That observation about FTMO does not describe every prop firm's agreement.
Does passing an evaluation guarantee a later payment?
It does not replace the next stage's terms. Read criteria, account rules and the applicable procedure. This guide states no probability of success, recommends no challenge and publishes no reward amount.
